There was a lot of hype, but did Cloverfield live up to the expectations of movie-goers? You can’t always judge based on box office numbers. I think the primary problem with most people’s movie-viewing experiences is based on their expectations going into the movie. It’s not always the quality of the film, but whether or not people’s expectations are met. I think that’s why Epic Movie and the Scary Movie series were still successful while being absolutely horrible films.
The Point Blank Critic has put in his two-cents about Cloverfield and gives a fair ruling about his experience. I still have yet to see the film, but I am making plans to see it this coming weekend. If you’re still on the fence about whether it’s worth your money and time to go see it in theaters, check out The Point Blank Critic’s review.
