I’ve decided to start featuring some of my favorite blogs here on my blog, so if you’re looking for something new to read you can check out what I like.
My friend “Axl” is a fellow help desk analyst at a similar institution to the one I work at during the day. His blog is sort of a mash-up of real life events and some over-exaggerated events that happen at work from time to time. He also uses it to vent when people act like idiots, which people often do (ourselves included).
I personally enjoy his writing style. He often equates some of the situations when a major outage occurs to being in a war, and refers to his fellow employees as comrades or war buddies. I’ve been present for many of the instances he writes about, or heard about them from the help desk veteran first-hand.
Just remember in every story there is an ounce of truth, and when you call someone for customer service and show your hind end, you don’t always get away with it completely without consequences. We do share our stories with friends even if we don’t mention names. Who knows? You could be the next one he blogs about. So, with that said, enjoy Office Place, and be nice to your tech support.
